Disco wasn’t a thing in 1971. We were still in late hippie days. Disco hit the scene around 1975-1976.
I live near Philadelphia. When I went to school, we started the day after Labor Day and finished the Friday before Father’s Day.
Down south, most schools are done by Memorial Day. However, they go back to school in early August.
