I think Cathy’s mom hit a little close to the mark today. Speaking from experience, you can work hard enough to forget problems at home – at least for a little while. Fortunately I learned how bad an idea that was before I lost my family.

Have a fantastic Friday – and for those heading into a long weekend have a great weekend. Well, have a great weekend even if it is a normal one.

No-nonsense executive – yes, nurturing earth mother – yes. Sultry temptress – not quite sure Cathy will ever fit that roll.

I hope everyone had a fine Thursday today.

I have met a few moms that I am glad were not mine. I was fortunate that both my mom and my mother-in-law were easy to get along with. Unfortunately I was just really getting to know my mother (funny how you have to get beyond your teenage years before you know you parents as humans) before she died at 63. Fortunately my father lived long enough (95) that we did become friends. And yes, I still miss being able to talk to both of them.

    Enjoy this fine midweek day.

Confident??? I think lightenup is right – Cathy’s answers in the first two panels are definitely suspect.

I think one of the best ways to meet people is to get involved in community events – especially as a volunteer. I meet a lot of people at the theatre. Of course they are way younger than I am but then I am old and not available anyway. Still you do meet a lot of interesting people there. My assistant met a woman while they were helping out in the theatre. Unfortunately they now spend a lot of time together outside the theatre and did not finish a few projects they were working on for the last production.

    Have a terrific Tuesday.

Funny how the brain, usually on a bad day, suddenly becomes aware of passing time and its affect on our body. Fortunately on good days we don’t seem to notice (other than that those days go by so quickly).

    Happy Monday everyone.

At least Cathy knows exactly what her mother wants.

I hope you are having a fun weekend.

I don’t know why people have such a problem believing their parents were young once too and had to overcome many of the same obstacles that they are facing now – and may have even learned lessons from the experience. Ah well, every generation somehow survives anyway.

Enjoy this Friday (not Monday thank goodness)

And again the words “We just want you to be happy” are said without conviction – or without the addition of “so do what we want you to do and you will be happy”.

I just want all of you to be happy today – so enjoy the day.

This is different. Cathy has babies on her mind – instead of her mom pushing for Cathy to have a baby. I guess she will soon remember the first part of having a baby is to have a partner.

Have a terrific Tuesday. Dress rehearsal tonight so off to the theatre once again.

Today I can relate to how Cathy’s mom feels. We just drove 8 hours (including stops) on Tuesday then back again yesterday so we could spend 3 days on the floor playing with our 11 month old grandson. Worth every minute on the road!

Just caught up on the comments for the past week. Purses, pockets, organizing systems, and whether or not to just stay in bed. It was a fun week.

I hope everyone is enjoying this find Sunday.
