Youth. From the series: The Four Ages of Man

    Paste (including the quote marks)

    "Category:1840s paintings from Denmark" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, and Yandex search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Category: found and once there find the text string Youth, and click its link for info and links that point to more info about this large painting, including the museum’s Description

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3330 (May 31, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment and reply there pointing to the info about this artist I used to point to here. Only work by him used here so far.

I have added a comment there pointing the blog entry with my comment and reply pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 10 works by this artist have been used here (12 times total, including this and a prior Throwback Thursday repeat), the May 13, 2021, strip being its first use. The October 21, 2021, strip has the prior by him (the other repeat), and the June 28, 2021, strip has the prior non-repeat by him.

I’ve tried the Brave search engine (from its dot com webpage, like the 6 others that worked), not the Brave browser (which I don’t have; yes, like any modern browser, I would guess you can choose the default search engine in Preferences or whatever). Again at this time, it showed zero results (probably because being new, it hasn’t built up a widely varied search history). In a couple years, it might work with this choice of search parameters as well.

Charles “Sparky” Schulz passed on February 12, 2000, and on May 27, 2000, over 50 cartoonists included Peanuts references in their own strips, Mike Peters being one of them. This being May 27, I wonder if that’s why CB is portrayed in this one. This strip’s archive only goes back to 11/25/02; so, I can’t say if this is close to what Mr. Peters used in 2000.

    François Tronchin

    Paste (including the quote marks)

    "Category:Pastels by Jean-Étienne Liotard" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Ecosia search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Category: found and once there find the text string 70.9, and click its link for info and links that point to more info (perhaps best viewed using the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers, which can automatically translate most webpages if necessary) about this roughly B3 paper size painting, along with a Description. If your browser isn’t set up to handle .tif images, to see an enlarged image there and avoid the 70.9 MB image download to your device, click a size under the image, rather than the image itself.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3327 (May 24, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 2 works by him have been used here, the June 23, 2014, strip being the prior. GoComics has deactivated the hyperlinks and removed the new lines in my extensive comment there; but, perhaps the text remains informative.

Using part of the filename in the search I think violates the rule barring links in GC comments. You may get away with it if nobody flags it; but, your comment may also be deleted by the GC Moderator if someone does. That’s why I use an indirect (2 step) search. Searching for what I said above gave zero results using the Brave search engine. On the other hand, the 6 search engines I listed above found it immediately.
