Thanks! I did not know that it ever ran in newspapers. Regardless, I’d be willing to bet that this particular strip never ran in a newspaper or it was one that John Forgetta revised the wording of after the strip ended. (He has occasionally revised the wording to update references.)
There’s a term, “mansplaining,” for (copied from a Web site) “the explanation of something by a man, typically to a woman, in a manner regarded as condescending or patronizing.” j_m_kuehl is adjusting that term for twits.
Jeff Bezos was obsessed with it for some strange unknown reason. It seems to have generated the same obsession in many Amazon customers, particularly the young.
I have no doubt. Usually, there are contacts that control this. For example, the Geech comic strip here ran from 1982 to 2003, but GoComics only has the year 2000 (possibly a little more than that, but that’s basically it).
