The bigger issue than AI generated content is what kinds of content will sell. Stuff like “Honey Booboo” still runs because there is a profitable market for it. One might generate all kinds of content via AI, but what matters more is the tastes of people who are willing to pay for it.
In my experience, corporate drones usually pick cheap over more expensive original artistry. To them mediocre is fine as long as it fits the budget. Artists have been passed over like this long before AI was around.
Yep, really good creativity is original. Anything that is an AI cut-and-paste job is not going to measure up. Tastes vary… some people might like what can be conjured up via AI, but I’m not expecting AI to rise to the abilities of true artistic masters.
