Well said. Comments that are humorous or imaginative are great but to waste time writing b!tchy comments is just ridiculous. Frankly, the last panel in today’s comic brings it all home. I enjoy this strip even when this strip gets overly silly. Think we’ll see Les any time soon?

I’ve been reading FW since FOREVER, and I could swear we once found out who it was.But regardless, THEY know who it is! That’s what’s important… um, so to speak.

Nice post. I think that’s mainly because after that war, the US stayed to help rebuild the country (both Japan & Germany), and by helping them get back on their feet it avoided the resentment that has sprung up in other places since then. Obviously things are more complicated than that, but it went a long way towards the good relationships we have today. There’s a scene at the end of the movie Charlie’s War, where Charlie asks for $1 million to build a school in Afghanistan to generate good will but is rebuffed in Committee. I believe the quote after that was something like this— we won the war but f*** up the end game.

Totally agree with you. I don’t expect literature masterpieces in a comic (except maybe Prince Valiant). I just enjoy the storyline, wherever it goes. It’s that simple.

I’ll never understand why some folks read a comic strip and then complain about it.For everyone else— I started reading FW pretty much when it started, so I figure I’m approximately “as old” as he is. But I look at the third panel & he looks about 20 years older than I am. Just an observation.

Frankly, I miss ol’ Funky, and the gang. The occasional ‘crossover’ (if I can call a defunct strip that) is kinda nice.Hey, it worked for the Beverly Hillbillies!

Yes… Korvettes. I still think about what a great record department they had.
