I pretty much am the Test Manager in every way except in title. In my experience, QA are often treated with disrespect among the developers (who are often treated as ‘development royalty’), but I’m not sure I really want the headache of being “management”.

   No, I don’t consider prayers and positive thoughts as trying to fix things—I said that because of our recent discussion over “women ranting and being upset when men try to fix things”. ;P I really needed to vent. I sure hope I can “outlast” my current boss. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Sue Ellen}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Thank you. ❤ I am looking for work, but apparently we’re in a “tech recession” and finding another job in my area with my qualifications is very difficult.    I’m just going to have a huge rant here, no need to try to “fix” things, y’all.

   Well, every week is tough at work these days with all the “restructuring” they’ve done, more work heaped on me, etc. However, this week has just been extra hard. My boss regularly berates me, which is not unusual to me from past experience with other bosses, but it’s been particularly bad this week. I need this job. Inflation is at an all-time high in New Zealand, and my husband is not well and may have to stop working if his condition gets any worse or unmaintainable. Trouble’s bills can be high (but I don’t begrudge him that at all, I’m a faithful slave to my cat), but someone’s got to keep the money flowing so we can keep him well fed and take him to the vet when he needs to go (we just took him to the vet the other day, worried because he kept swallowing and licking his lips, but the vet assured us he seems to be OK otherwise and just keep an eye on him). Then, I wake up with a terrible sore throat in the wee hours this morning. I feel so run down . . . well, there it is. Thanks for listening. (๑′ᴗ‵๑)
