Oh please, the movies? Read the books. Or listen to them on CD - very nicely done. But the movies are 2nd rate.

Like I been saying, just wait six months until they’re out on DVD, blue ray, and cable TV. That’s what I always do. And threat or no threat, a friend of ours is not afraid to report anyone who bought any bootleg movies to the authorities!

I HAVE read the books. 6 times each as a matter of fact, and I’m still looking forward to the movie(s).

I’ll wait till their all on DVD and then have a big party with my grandkids where we’ll take a weekend to watch them all.

I’m eagerly awaiting the new Wheel of Time book, Towers of Midnight! And also the Harry Potter movie (although they are not as good as the books, of course).

    dante.deangelo, that’s a great idea!

^I also enjoy the HP movies (and will troop out to see the newest), but the fact that they left Peeves out is just short of criminal.

I read the first one and enjoyed it, but not enough to read the others. I’m happy to watch the movies when they come out, and stay somewhat “in the loop” that way.

Maybe someday I’ll go back and read all the books, but I have so many OTHER books on my “must read” list (most of which will NEVER be made into movies) that I don’t have time to spare for anything that (for me) is second tier. I can always make time to catch a two-hour movie, though…

I feel the same way about the “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” series. I may never get around to reading the books, but I’ve been following the movies…
