Clayton: Lots of leaves this year. Adam: I'd say it's a bumper crop. Clayton: Did you rake leaves with your dad when you were a boy? Adam: Oh, yeah. We'd rake the yard and then we'd have grilled cheese and apple cider. Clayton: Yum. Adam: Then my dad would get a fire roaring in the fireplace and we'd watch classic movies. Clayton: Like what? Adam: High noon, Stagecoach, Shane, Ben-Hur. Whatever was on television at the time. We didn't have VCRs back then. Clayton: Umm...we don't really have them anymore now, either. Adam: Oh gosh, that's true. I've become an anachronism. Clayton: Let's go get you some grilled cheese. You'll feel better. Adam: Cider helps, too.

I much prefer VHS to DVD. If you stop watching a movie, you can take the tape out, put it back in later, press Play, and you’ll be right where you were in the movie. No so, with a DVD.

I think we got a VCR in the mid 80’s. I think they came out around the early 80’s but am not sure and don’t feel like checking Wickipedia.
Some DVD players will save where you were in a DVD, but it seems iffy. I have one that will sometimes save this and sometimes not.
