Doctor; Okay, Adam. You do indeed have a kidney stone. Adam; Oh gosh, please make it go away. Doctor; Well, the safest way to get rid of it is to let it pass naturally. Adam; Forget safe. What's the most pain-free. Doctor; If I move on to the next patient.

I guess that this wasn’t the stoned Adam wanted to be!

No, but if he were stoned, he wouldn’t mind the stone.

I feel sorry for the guy. I’ve had 2 of them and they hurt. One of them attacked me on an airplane flying back home from San Diego at 30,000 feet. It wasn’t fun I tell you.

Ouch! And I do mean both the stone AND what the doctor said; NOT the best bedside manners.

This doctor never heard of lithotripsy?

Ye gods. Had a stone a few years ago, and it was the most intense pain I ever experienced. I was BEGGING for relief, and almost kissed the nurse who pushed the morphine into my IV. (But he was pretty ugly.)

I’ve had two kids, and I’ve had kidney stones. I’d rather do drug free childbirth than ever have another kidney stone. Kidney stones are so much more painful!

My wife has had two since we were married. Both times she felt like she was having a heart attack, she was in so much pain. I never heard her wail like that before or since (with the possible exception of the time she pulled a muscle in her arm).
