There’s an actor named A Martinez.

A Martinez was in “The Cowboys” with John Wayne, who was in “Cahill, US Marshall” with John Vernon, who was in “Animal House” with Kevin Bacon.

“Phone book”? What’s that?

Oh, the A’s are in Oakland now? I lost track after they left Philly.

What’s a “phone book”?

You all are up on your A’s this morning. I give you all an A. I’d still read A@home.

There’s A Whitney Brown the comedian who someday hopes to become The Whitney Brown.

Do they still make phone books? I haven’t gotten one in many years, I guess because I no longer have a land line.

So he’s the guy The Fonz was always talking about.

There is also the Scarlet Letter, not to mention a world full of a-holes.

I remember reading once about a Korean immigrant whose family name was O. He took so much grief from people who couldn’t wrap their heads around a one-letter surname that he eventually changed his name to Oh.

Of course, considering phone books alphabetize on last name first, A Newman still won’t be the first guy in the book.

A? Sounds like a Canadian name.

No, used to be the ‘Kansas City Athletics,’ moved to Oakland in 1968, changed name to ‘Oakland A’s’.

Technically, Oakland’s nickname is still the Athletics, but they’re most commonly referred to as the A’s.
