In Japan killing a spider brings bad luck, especially if the deed is done in the morning. John Bollinger has the right idea.

You’re not being fair. My husband wouldn’t be the one to kill the spider (or bee or wasp or whatever it is) either, I would. But in every other way he’s very much the man of the house, he takes care of all the “man” stuff that I know nothing about. If he’s weak in one area, that doesn’t mean he needs to turn in his man card and buy feminine products.

What if you trip? What if it manages to slip under the weak piece of cardboard you use? What if you are squeezing the glass so hard it breaks? What if the spider won’t leave the glass when you put it outside – and it’s your favorite drinking glass? Me – I grab a kleenex and grab the invader and flush it down the toilet! If it wanted to be outside, it should have stayed there.

And by the time you’ve turned round, it’s gone back inside.

spiders are on the good guy list like snakes. spiders eat al lot of flies, mosquitos, roaches, etc. they should not be killed. just like snakes eat a lot of rodents. you kill spiders, you are good buddies with flies, roaches, ants, mosquitos.

She killed it??? :( I’m disappointed. Next time, just put a glass over it, slide a piece of paper underneath, and release it outside. Siders are good for the planet! And killing is bad karma.

What an awful message to send, Harrell! Do NOT kill spiders! They are a GOOD bug! They eat the other bugs! Take the Buddhist approach and respect ALL life!
