Adam: Who wants to go for a post-dinner walk? Katy: Me! Adam: I love summer nights. Katy: Me too! I like when everybody's lights are on. The houses seem all cozy. Adam: Oh, I know! Look, the Bakers are just sitting down to eat. Looks like a Norman Rockwell painting, doesn't it? What could be sweeter than the sight of a family enjoying a meal together? The father...opening a window to let the summer breeze...um... Voice: Get a good look, Newman? I'm dialing 9-1-1! Adam: Moving along! Moving along!

Adam didn’t look like he was on their property, so what’s the big deal? Other than it’s a comic strip and there had to be a punchline.

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode, I think it was christmass or thanksgiving, and for the usual reasons they felt the family was a failure and went looking into some neighbours window and there was a grampa and his granddaughter by the fire being cozy and lovely and one of them said why can´t we be like that? Then the kid tells the old man “somebody is outside” and he tells her “bring me my gun” and then shoots them. LOL. The Rockwell moment destroyed.

They could have invited Adam in for a coffee or something, he would have loved them forever.

Adam, it’s the 21st century – not Norman Rockwell’s time. Things have changed.

In some Midwest towns, this would be sufficient to start a police riot.

well I don’t know if standing in front of a house and staring in is really the right way to go….kinda creepy??

The thing about most windows, which maybe escapes some people, is that they work both ways. If the occupants do not want anyone looking in, then close the blinds…. duh.

Yeah, things have changed. Neighborhoods aren’t filled with neighbors any more. Too bad..Really too bad…
Perkycat about 10 years ago
That is so true. We only wish they might have been. Dream on.

It’s a public street, people. As others have said, they’re called curtains or shades.
