Adam: You okay?
Laura: No. I can't imagine our town not having a bookstore.
Adam: I get it, honey. I know how you feel. Remember when our Boston Market closed?
Laura: Yes. We're still paying the therapy bills.
Lack of a bookstore is something to be avoided, however, lack of a ‘Boston Market’ should be rejoiced. I can cook better ‘by accident’ than they are able to ‘prepare’ meals on purpose.
I love small and quirky bookstores and all they represent. It would be sadder, however, if all reading were to somehow go away. The transmitting of knowledge, imagination, etc. must go on, however it is done.
Local bookstores are as much a victim of the internet as e-books. Why pay full list price for a book when you can wait a month and get it for half the cost on eBay or Amazon, and not have to pay sales tax to boot.

Mr. Harrell, the way you’ve drawn Laura these last few days is quite amusing. Well done!

This is how I felt when our last local Cinnabun closed. Darn health nuts!

Had a Boston Market here but, unfortunately it’s been gone for several years.
