Why do I think that this is still Spring Break in their neck of the comic strip woods.
A couple of large tablespoons of Castor Oil will fix her up real good! That’s what the old-timers would tell ya!
Saltines and ginger ale.

In the old days is were always pretending to be sick in the comics. Nice to see a kid being really sick and really smart at the same time. Though maybe not that funny.
