I too got horrid recollections from my kindergarten and primary school years! Even in a thermos, after a couple of hours, milk doesn’t smell good!

Just get a new car, Adam. It’ll be so much easier. The smell will fade eventually, but it takes so long.

Clean. Use air freshener. Open all the windows. Then use it for inspiration for some vivid descriptive language in whatever you are currently writing.

You will never get the smell out.

My friend had a pan of goat milk (long story) spilled in his car by his mother.

It was never right after that. Even a professional Detailer couldn’t get the stench out.

I remember a show on TV about a car that had a corpse left in it for an extended period of time. Might have been Mythbusters. At any rate, they pulled everything out of that car and couldn’t get the smell to completely abate.

“Wimps!” My dad would say. A medic in WWII, one of his duties was collecting dead bodies. After the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, in August, he found them by smell.

Several years ago, my family and I got a bunch of lobsters from the store, brought them home, and cooked them up. It was great.

Then we put the shells in the trash, and the trash in can in the back yard, and left it.

    For a week.

    In July.

We don’t have trash service at the vacation home so we had to load that bag in the car and drive it a few miles to the dump. We never did get the smell out of the car, and I feel sorry for whoever purchased it after we traded it in for our current car.
