Not an actual book. Google was adamant that the width of an airplane seat would be of greater interest. And the results were even more depressing than the story of a sick kid.
I read a lot, I still do. But in school when we were given a book report and 2-4 weeks to complete, I was done in 2-4 days. Kids hated me, teachers were unsure I didn’t get some adult to do it. They called my home once and my mom said, if YOU can get her to put the book down, tell me how!
I started reading everything I could get my hands on in second grade. Book reports were a cake walk! Now, I realize I was a nerd, a geek and destined to be somebody who had a book with them all the time! And tho’ I love my books, a Kindle makes carrying all my favs and current new books ever so much easier!
I learned to read early and still read (yes, things other than comics). I cut out comics related to hearing and hearing aids and post them in my test booth and in my fitting room. Today I had a 4 year old reading the comics (out loud, actually reading the words) posted in my fitting room. I’m thrilled to see a kid that age reading well.

I used to be able to do that. You know, write a book report on a book I knew nothing about. The only problem I had was the grade.

My sister and I were great readers, and so are all of our kids and grandkids. The great-grands seem headed in the same direction.
