Remember when a big snow storm meant not having to go to work (not just teachers)? (yes I know this was only true for some people but we gladly stayed home so that it would be less hazardous for those who had to go to work) With more and more people being able to work remotely They too say “I WANT A SNOW DAY!”
I had a friend who worked in a school system. She kept hoping for a snow day, and then being all happy when it happened… and then being upset at the end of the year when they were needing to be made up.

With my luck the snow day would be Saturday or Sunday…

When we wanted to stay home we would say we had eye trouble (“I just couldn’t see going to work/school today”)

Our school never closed, no matter how much snow there was.

Big storm can knock out electricity… And then you get a No Power & Furnace Not Working Day.

Back in my day (before they invented snow days) we had to walk to AND from school in the snow….uphill both ways! ;-D

I don’t have a e-learning kid. I wonder if they have recess on line? I mean the playground was where I did my best learning.

Because I`m retired snow days mean nothing, also the same for holidays and Fridays. All just another day, but I enjoy all the days.

Bought a Subaru last year, its only 7 miles of mostly highway driving to work, and I’m an essential worker
Has to be one heck of a storm for me to call it a snow day

Having taught for 32 years, I can witness the veracity of this
