He’s proud and supportive, she cuts him down

Wait for it…

After many years of us having similar salaries, my wife’s last promotion put her a good bit ahead of me…I was proud of her, she really works hard and deserved it…and I felt that way before she bought me a boat.

She knows how he is (and how he tends to be).

He’s still in shock. The bullet to his ego has just gone in. It will take a few minutes for the Adam-ness to start oozing out.

He gets no respect?

“I’ll have to get to it later, right now, my every waking moment (which are few), are dedicated to improving my personal hygiene…”

There is that “Adam-y” stuff.

She knows him very well…

My attitude would be, the more money she makes, the more money l make. Just ask Mr J.K. Rowlings who just luuuves his new Ferrari….

Cue the histrionics …

Gumbo might want to hide for a while.

If my wife did that I would say “show me the money” :)

Her success can open some exposure for him. The smartest thing he can do at this point is to be fully supportive of her (for both their sakes).
