happy and sad moments are all alike, Clayton. Each must pass at some moment and nothing last forever. Enough with the philosophy, now go and grab your shovel, please.
My son moved to New York for post graduate studies. He saw a tiny house type community outside of Ithaca where he chose to live. We looked at all the pictures of a lovely spring or summer. I pointed out that in every picture, on every porch there was a snow shovel. I told him those were not decorations. He shoveled a lot of snow.
My spirit on shoveling snow was pretty high when Dad and I did it together. We were a team and it felt good to do just a little bit more than him. Once it became my “responsibility”, it wasn’t fun to do more than him anymore.
It’s the 21st century – they make power equipment to do that for you now. Cheaper then the hospital bill that will come with trying to muscle it thru yourself.

Welcome to the real world, Clayton. Where snow days have become snow shovel days.
Oh, my aching back!

Clayton, two words… Weed burner. When we get more snow than the little dog can navigate in, I just melt a six foot diameter “restroom” for her.

I never really mind shoveling snow: beats the humidity and heat.

It’s a little different for the young, gives them the opportunity to build a snowman or something.

I enjoy getting enough snow that the neighbors with south facing driveways have to shovel too.
