When my daughter was younger, her class had to make calendars. As the teacher handed back the graded calendars, he told two boys, “Nice art work but every month does not begin on a Monday”
When people wish that they lived in another time they only think of the good parts. Take the 50’s for example. People forget about the fear that full blown nuclear war was on people’s minds to the point people were building fallout shelters. Polio was at epidemic levels. Segregation was the rule. Yes, you didn’t need an education beyond high school to have a good job, but none of the conveniences existed that we enjoy today. No personal computers, rotary dial phones attached to a cord, poor transportation system was the rule because the interstate system was just being built.
No, I was born for this time and place. It is my responsibility to to live for now and try to do my best to improve things for my fellow man.
Well, here’s a 1950 calendar for you: http://luirig.altervista.org/calendar/img.php?year=1950. You can pring it out. And here’s 1977 for grouchy: http://luirig.altervista.org/calendar/img.php?year=1977.
