Always (and whoever said “work is fun” was either not working in the first place or managing the place yelling at employees)

“One piece at a time, and it didn’t cost me a dime” —-might be fun, or at least entertaining.

Ha! There’s work fun and then there’s home fun!

My mom would always say as I was off to work, “work hard and have fun!”. Huh? Which do you want me to do?

I have actually had “fun” jobs. My last job before I retired was ideal. I was amply rewarded for solving a series of highly technical problems in software and hardware, had a boss who knew his stuff (and my stuff) and rarely had time to sit around bored.

Of course, I spent years paying attention in boring classes, got two college degrees, and ping-ponged around California for years working for various nimrods and tyrants before I found that job. If you want a “fun” job, you have to “follow your dream” through some tough sledding.

It’s been real, it’s been fun, but it hasn’t been real fun. I’m going home to do that.

“It’s a fun job, but it’s still a job”. Nothing beats doing what you want to do when you want to do it.
