I keep eight or ten identical pairs of socks, so I never have to spend any time matching them. Occasionally I lose one, but all that means is that I’ve got an odd number of socks rather than even, and the next time I lose one it’s even again. When my total sock count drops below a certain level, I just go out and buy more of the same.
