“The Gift of the Magi”, fritzoid, always one of my favorites. As a matter of fact, I HAD a VHS copy of “O. Henry’s Full House” for years - gone with the wind, unfortunately (or with divorces or whatever)…
This made me actually think, fritzoid (hard work). I checked, and this film is now in the public domain - OK to legally download, which I am doing as we speak/write/read. Thanks for leading me to a new DVD of O. Henry’s Full House.
That includes the story where someone kidnaps the Olsen Twins, and Bob Saget won’t pay the ransom, right? The “twist ending” to that one is surprisingly gruesome (think “Se7en”, only with two boxes), but particularly satisfying…

Why ruin the inside of a wallet with rubbed-off ink from bills and germs and stuff like that?

Agnes had five dollars but nowhere to keep it. So she bought a leathercraft kit to make herself a wallet. But OH! The kit cost five dollars!
So she sold the wallet she made for five dollars. But OH! Once again she had no place to keep it!
That’s worthy of O. Henry, don’t you think?
