I thought she just decided to replace “Eureka!”

I understand how you feel, Agnes. This happens to me all the time. One day several hours after teaching a Brit Lit class, in which I had misplaced the name of the Norse dragon who was trying to devour Yggdrasil, the world tree, I was standing at a bus stop and suddenly exclaimed, “Nidhogg!”People stepped back…LOL

It’s how the mind works sometimes. We remember things when it’s too late for them to be of any use to us.

I met a woman one evening, and during the course of a long conversation we got stumped on the name of the band that recorded “I Touch Myself.” Several hours later, I shouted out “Divinyls!” at the WORST possible moment…

A friend and I were traveling, and during a conversation both of us blanked on a person’s name. Several months later, on another trip, she suddenly said the person’s name ( in the middle of a totally unrelated conversation). I immediately remembered the previous conversation, and congratulated her on remembering. This totally confused the passenger in the back seat.
