Ah, but you see, Talddren… apparently you searched for “Dr. Marten shoelaces.”
However, Grandma didn’t ask for shoelaces for her Docs. She specifically asked for “tweed shoelaces” … presumably for whatever shoes she wears, which are quite unlikely,in fact, to be Docs.
None of the currently available Doc Marten laces, while MUCH less expensive, are labelled tweed.
I have always been a very careful researcher. My search terms were “tweed shoelaces.”
The ones I found were apparently made for some pseudo-collectible tweed Doc Martens shoes…and are described in terms such as “rare” and “hard to find.”People will buy them for the same reason they once paid $150 for a “rare” Beanie Baby (now probably worth $5, just as these shoelaces will be when the Gen-Xers and Millennials are all over 50, their old Docs long abandoned.)
Meanwhile, if Grandma will accept some tweedy looking but not “tweed” shoelaces…she can have the multi, brown multi or yellow and black ones I’ve shown below….
which are all about $3 even from Dr. Martens….
The bottom ones, however, are… gasp!… genuine tweed, and must be tracked down on eBay or other collector sites…and will set you back that $25 I mentioned.
I’m sure Grandma doesn’t care…. I bet it’s all her idea of a joke and a wild goose chase.
I was going to say $2 for the shoelaces. real or not in tweed or not. You can get some real pretty coloured sticky notes in towers of stacks. Cost more than $2 but – oh, so pretty.

Just simulated tweed, Agnes. Real tweed is too expensive.

Whoa…. so is simulated!
Go for the Post-Its, Agnes.I’ve never seen tweed shoelaces, real or faux… but it’s “just” a comic, you know.
But I decided to Google ’em anyway…and the only ones I could find that anybody even called tweed are these from Doc Marten…
..on eBay and a couple of other websites for about 25 bucks a pair!

Ooh! Tomato cages! I want some, too!

Even the official Doc Marten website doesn’t sell any laces over $6.00. Somebody is trying to pull a fast one here.

Oww! My bad. They do have a pair for $7.00…special red holiday velvet.
