Looking at the welfare and unemployment statistics the abject stupidity is working well for a lot of relaxed people. Of course having a kid every year also helps. Let’s hope Agnes And Trout go for another option all together.
It works. My older sister set out (actually wrote out and memorized) a plan when she was about 15 on how to appear as dumb as possible, knowing that it would attract males, and all she had to do was wait for a wealthy one. It worked. First it looked like she was going to marry a doctor, but our evil stepfather convinced her to dump him because he had a Hispanic last name. She married the son of a millionaire, as she reminded us constantly. I couldn’t stand him (or her).
There are more ways to prepare for a career than going to college. College is not the career path it was, and the debt can be crippling. Vocational/technical schools and internships can be better alternatives for many people. The time I spent in many of the ed courses I took to earn my teaching degree would have been better spent in on-the-job training with experienced teachers. One semester of student teaching was not enough for me.

“Abject stupidity” arouses more contempt than pity in others.
Just look at our political scene, and you’ll see what I mean.

Of course you could become a welder, carpenter, plumber, electrician, … and make some serious money

They could grow up to be pretty and marry rich men
Trout and Agnes might want to count on that pity

Or you can pay the fortune for education and still have to rely on pity.

Or you can bury yourself in debt for a degree in art history and end up working for Hooters ! (If your lucky)

How about skipping college and go get a skill like plumbing, carpentry, electronics etc.
