She was right to have trepidations about the query – fish “sticks” are like chicken “tenders” in that they are made from what’s left of the animal after all the readily identifiable parts are processed – which is not to say they still don’t taste “good” – I always preferred fish sticks to regular old fish, as a child, because I preferred the breading the manufacturers used over corn meal which is what my mother and grandmother used to coat their fish.
