Wow. I hadn’t realized it was so common. Even at 47 occurrences, it is still not a match for cities named Washington, which according to a Google search, occurs 88 places nationwide. I wonder how the Post Office got mail to the right city in states with more than one “Washington” before Zip Codes existed?

According to Google Maps it’s on Route 22.

Lebanon, Missouri? Interstate 44 and Highway 5. It has a Route 66 Museum.

Lebanon, NH, is on US route 4. I used to live in Grafton, NH about a half hour away.
