Amanda – Ninja may not be physically with you but what memories you have you would not have otherwise. The first Cafe still is missed but what memories including stealing the roast off of the counter, caught with roast in his mouth and putting his paws over it since he knew he was going to be punished, he wanted to finish chewing. After yelling at him, I had to leave the room to keep from laughing because it was such a funny sight. He was the greatest and my life was greatly enriched by him.
Ranger, my Great Dane, died in 1980, and Two-Tone, my sister’s Chow/GSD went in 2009. We were discussing them both at lunch last Wednesday. They’re in “the next room”.
I had our Lucy put down yesterday. 10 year old cat, but a tumor in her chest cavity smashing her trachea. I got pulled over as I was sniveling my way to the vet to do the deed after her xrays. Turns out the police lady had just had one of her friends euthanized. Anyway. I feel like I betrayed her. She thought we were going home. I’ll just keep tormenting myself until I’m done, I guess.

The first year is the hardest, but I still miss pets who died years ago. Sniff……sigh.

I get it. It’s hard. I’ve outlived some great cats and miss them all.
