Did that for my in-laws once long ago on their anniversary. They thought they were going to a restaurant with a few of us, but with 8 kids living all over the country they never expected to see any of them. We all flew or drove to VT and meet in the back of the restaurant which had a nice patio area. When they walked around the corner and saw us all I thought both of the were going to cry. Best surprise ever!
