The quickest cure for whatever is the problem, is to get a doctor’s appointment. The ailment generally is cured by the time for the appointment rolls around.

You really just need to set up a waiting room with marginally comfortable chairs and no snacks or drinks allowed, and then sit in it, doing nothing, for anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour. You can read a book, or use your phone or tablet, but for TV, you can only watch nothing you want to see.

Repetitive motion injury? Maybe built in a break from the pen and drafting table every 20 minutes or so? The Mrs is a graphic artist/illustrator and says this helps her reduce the aches and pains and tendonitis and all. You should consult your own doctor. Or maybe other cartoonists. YMMV.

Why can’t life be like a medical TV show? You get in immediately and no matter what other problem you might have. The doctors find the REAL reason you’re bleeding from a fall from a tall building or horrible car accident and save your life…

Years ago, I was called in to the examining room. 45 minutes later, I stuck my head out, told a staff person(no idea what her status was) how long had been waiting in that cold room and that I was leaving in 15 minutes if the doctor didn’t show. I dressed 15 minutes later, got as far as the waiting room when he came after me saying I couldn’t leave and I told him i a distinctive voice how long it had been and that I was leaving. Turned around and smiled at those sitting in the waiting room and left. Three years later he sent a bill for the X-rays that I had brought with me. I ignored the bill and never heard from him after that.
