Yep, anytime you clear off a surface and get set to use it, the cat will appear and monopolize your attention.

My father did a Church of the Nazarene version of a CCD class. I still can recite all 66 books of the Bible that I learned in that class. He was an excellent teacher. Used some of his methods when I taught.

If there is a clean surface anywhere in the house there will either be a cat on it or my wife will plop a pile of papers on it.

We call them Designated Spots. “Oh, you’ve made a designated spot for him!”
