When my cat (in my avatar) was small, he had a feline coronavirus. I had to give him pills, which I crushed and mixed with a bit of chicken baby food. I put some on my finger and put it into his mouth. He never scratched or bit me, although I had to retrieve him from under the sofa at pill times unless I was really sneaky and picked him up before he realized it.
