In fairness to Andy, that happens a lot with electric kettles. Every hotel room I have ever stayed in in England has had the tell-tale black marks on the heating element, including one in Bristol that wouldn’t even work.

“Boiling a kettle” means the act of boiling water. I kinda like it better. It sounds better than “boiling water!”

She’ll come back; she always comes back. They don’t call her, ‘Co-Dependent Flo’ for nothing.

Obviously, Andy CAN boil a kettle. It’s the water he has a problem with.

Andy can’t help it that he isn’t familiar with these newfangled gadgets.

Andy thinks he is not an idiot. Alas, obviously, he is an ignorant! He doesn’t know how to boil a bloody kettle!

I think Andy should have rephrased that last sentence to Flo!
