Today’s strip perfecly illustates the difference between Andy Capp, then and now. In the old days, when Reg Smythe was still wielding the pen, Flo would have hit him, slap in the face.
I think the Capps actually live in a terraced house (37 Durham Street), next door to Chalkie & Rube. They have to go upstairs to go to bed and don’t share the property with anyone else, so don’t think it can be a flat. They do pay rent on it (well, they’re supposed to anyway)

We should get rid of the knobs. at my employer they have nice levers for door handles, so easy to open when carrying things

Can’t expect fast hand reactions from a football player and a boozer! But Flo better lighten up on the sauce, she completely missed his head.
