The bad “Pub Quiz” episodes continue! Has there EVER been a funny one? Like I’ve said before, these kind of strips completely ignore the personalities of all the characters. Andy first and foremost, of course, but also Chalkie and Jackie. These jokes from Central Casting could be in literally any comic strip. (So could the art! Could you really tell that Andy and Chalkie were in a pub? They could just as easily be having an outdoors picnic!)
@Number SixMuggins seems to have his life all fouled up! I feel sorry for him. (Btw you were saying that your strip yesterday was based on a real-life incident? I’m hoping you were the looker and not the pee-er in that case, lol.)
So the man in Colorado’s comment is late and its all my fault…apologies to both him and all of you…A restful Thurs. eve

Thanks, John ! I get my share of crap weather. Nicely sunny today accompanied/spoiled by a high wind. Got some rugs on the line and started carpet shamp’ing inside. They take a beating over winter and other wet periods when “stuff” comes into the house despite your best efforts. I discovered the back seat more than half and the spare tire together weigh a good piece. Cars today, even the small ones, weigh too much. No wonder gas mileage is dismal. Imagine a spartan vehicle like the 1975 Ford Courier pickup with a modern fuel injection system or even as a hybrid. I think the MPG would be pretty nice. If Mikey comes back, sumbahdees gotta get his mail.
I not sure it did, as I did not get a call last night. I would think if it were good news I would surely hear it ! Sunny, but bloody windy. At least when I put the area rugs over the clothesline for washing they’ll dry fast.
I am a little surprised that there is fighting at Peanuts. I rarely read the comments there as I have all I can do to keep up with Capp, Dick Tracy, Alley Oop and larryh77’s Alley Oop fan fic I and about 30 others get via email. Larry wants to be the next Alley Oop author and is doing a bang up job at his story. Right now we’re at the edge of a Grand Canyon cliff as it looks like Oop and friends have been killed in the vacuum of space where they had just been ejected to by the evil bad guy alien, Torka.
Cheers for your ‘talk and run’ at the strip. I don’t like getting in those situations either as it causes me to use the kind of words that get me barred, only this last time was not for “fighting”. Come to think of it, I only get barred for using those words in the course of having fun !
My Thursday is going okay, so far. Hope yours is too and that the next pint doesn’t leave you looking pruney.
I really hope you hear from Ron soon as I’m sure you’ll be desperate to know how it went. I hope everything did go well.
I never really see arguing on Peanuts either… I’m a regular commenter there. I like the strip… I think it’s cute. I was meaning to ask you how Larry was doing but my memory is like a sieve and I keep forgetting. Thank you for the updates. The storyline so far on Alley Oop sounds great.
I couldn’t get away from Peanuts fast enough when I saw them all arguing and ranting. I went straight to Pearls Before Swine which is the comic I comment on after Peanuts. I’m never getting involved in those talks.
I’ll have to keep checking myself in the mirror to see I’m turning pruney… Haha.
sorry but I am tired but Gweedo says:Come Friday morning
I agree !Team Gumby has sunk to a new low with the pub quizzes. The so called humour is flatter than a day old ale..I wonder if anyone has ever donated a full galleon of blood. (That’s quite a bit !).I’m with you on “Bonding”, pcolli. I get the feeling he is just too full of himself. I feel as though it’s more about worshipping the hero than a fun story. “The shaken not stirred” line gives the impression of a very snooty kinda guy. My family watched a Bond flick at the drive-in when I was a boy. I think it was Goldfinger. I liked where the doodad extended from the one car to tear up the tyre on the adjacent car. My mom was a sucker for spy type thrillers and followed The Man From U.N.C.L.E. tv series religiously; also enjoyed The Avengers, Secret Agent Man, Columbo, Run For your Life, with Ben Gazzara, and some others that excape me at the moment...Number Six said, about 3 draws ago
I was 37 when I gave my first pint.
I was much younger than that when I drank my first pint !.Much thanks to Linda “Granny” Dean for doing the carrier signal in spite of her current circumstances with Big Medical.
personally, I never liked the Bond films even though I think Sean Connery is an awesome actor and amazingly gorgeous… yep, I gotta crush on you Sean…especially in the archeoligical Crusader flicks…

With a running gag like this, it makes me think the comic strip’s name is “Chalkie.”

This strip assumes that Andy knows the right answer.
