@beviek—-The Canadian is talking about a sport, & they think he is talking about a man named Bob Slay. I guess they never heard of bob sledding either! Bob Slay/Bobsleigh.
Good morning everyone.-——@beviek: Bob Slay worked on Untold Stories of the ER and Myth Busters. There is another Bob Slay (Mountain Mods computer cases) but I believe Chalkie is referring to the first Bob Slay.-—-Have a sunny day my friends.
O.K. I know it’s not just me. Where I grew up it was called bobsledding, sledding, or tobogganing – depending upon which instrument of destruction you chose to hurtle yourself off of a snow packed ( or ice packed ) hill. While a sleigh and a bobsleigh are correct terms, I have always thought of a sleigh as a horse drawn vehicle for winter – Jingle Bells comes to mind.Although, now that I think about it, my Northern Irish mother used to say that my brother and I were going sleighing when we trudged through the snow with our Flexible Flyers to the ‘mountain’ at the end of the street. ( Amazing how that.huge ‘mountain’ shrunk as we got older ! ).
