@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny our Hero Mr Andrew Capp , is again going through the motions of leaving home , Flo is going to celebrate with Ruby Andy’s leaving , but it’s going be a short lived absence , he always comes back :o) right? my avatar today is an old photo of a younger me holding my Princess Amy when she was 2 years old , I could not do that now , she’s 17 now and nearly as tall as me , How was your day , ours could be miserable because I have been sick as a dog all night, barfing and poor Connie is doing her best taking care of me , take care chum
My all-time favorite “Andy leaving in a huff” strip was one where Andy is angrily walking out with his suitcase, steam coming out of his ears, never to darken his own door again, and Flo is at the door with a hankie, dabbing the hysterical tears streaming down her face. A passing stranger asks Flo, “Pardon me, do you know Andy Capp?” Flo calms down instantly and replies, “I SHOULD do, I’ve been studying dramatics under him for twenty odd years!”
It’s somewhere in one of my twenty or more Andy Capp paperback collections, but they’re probably somewhere under a bunch of my other hundreds of different comic book collections, so it might take me a while to find it! But your range of years is probably about right, I’d think.
