    Hey, Cappers!

    Just thought I’d say Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night to everyone before I venture off to sleepyland.

    See you all later.

    Why bother going to a doctor’s office anyway?

    @Number Three Today’s Strip IS funny ,but It’s a repeat , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp’s statement to the doctor is correct because the doc was adressing Andy in the royal plural :o) my avatar again is a photo of our fav Brit comedy actor Rowan Atkinson as Mr bean smiling because he is in a good mood like I am , how was your day? ours should be busy but calm I hope, errands are done and now Connie is busy making the Xmas logs so I got out of the way :o) keep safe and thanks for caring pal

    The original Smythe strip years ago had the doc telling Andy that he had to stop drinking. The final panel showed Capp turn at the office door and ask, “Can’t yer operate?”

    Cut ’im a break. He already quit smoking, and gets plenty of exercise (running from coppers and beating up opponents on the pitch).

    Andy looks like the poster child for Slow Death.

    Given how long Andy has been around, if it hasn’t killed him yet, why change?

    This strip’s reminiscent of an Irish doctor I knew many years ago. He’d lecture me on the danger of cigarette smoking while puffing on a cigarette, warn me of the evils of drink, then offer me a shot from a bottle of Paddy he kept in his desk drawer and would caution me about avoiding stress and to keep my blood pressure and adrenaline levels down, meanwhile he was secretly involved with running guns into the North of Ireland for Sinn Fein!

    Who pays for his Doctor’s visit? I guess they have socialized medicine in England.

    As Willie Nelson said, there are more old drunks than there are old doctors.

    When someone asks me “How are WE doing?” I tell them “I’m doing fine but I can’t answer for you.”

    @Afficionado

    Glad to hear you’ve been feeling happy lately. By the way, I enjoy Blackadder and Mr Bean. Although I find the New Year’s Eve episode of Mr Bean rather sad because he invites two of his friends (or acquaintances) to his house and no matter how hard he tries, he just isn’t a very good host. They end up moving the hands of his clock forward to midnight so they have an excuse to go. I’ll link the episode for anyone who wants to watch. You can see what I mean when I say it’s rather sad:

    Stay safe, stay well and stay happy, pal. Love to Bella.

    I once went to a doctor who told me I drank and smoked too much, so what did I do? Right! I went to a new doctor who smoked and drank.;-D

    The key word there is “excessive”, which for Andy us a little different than the doctor.
