@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny ,our Hero Mr Andrew Capp’s palate does not extend to high faluting beers , just his usual booze , he is too set in his ways like I am , in my younger drinking days I always drank Bacardi rum and Coke but once a barman gave me a Vodka & Pepsi instead , I called the waiter over and calmly told him that I did not order kerosine & mud , he asked me what shall do with this drink? i grinned and answered if he really wanted me to tell him :o) my avatar is a spoof of a bloke standing on a still threadmill exercise machine for 15 minutes and saying next time he’ll try it with the power on , which reminds me that since our doctor advised us to walk for 15 minutes twice daily, we bought an expensive machine and put it in our bedroom , we used it fot a few weeks but then stopped , now it makes a very handy clothes horse :o) how was your day? ours should be busy but calm I hope ,feel a bit better it’s not raining and we are both in a good mood with no errands to run , keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady
My nephew gave me a can of oatmeal brown ale flavoured with cinnamon and pecans. It sounded really unappealing to me. I don’t like my coffee flavoured and I don’t like my beer flavoured. But this brown ale was surprisingly good.
Many many many years ago I was slinging beer in a C&W bar in Penetang and the beer rep came in and ‘gave’ us an 18 pack of a beer called Colt 45. No relation to the USA’s Colt 45 beer. It was horrid. Our town was near a few FN reservations and some of those folks had drinking problems and would drink anything. I could not give them away. As a matter of common decency I gave those few a free beer of their choice to wash the taste out. A month later the rep came in and I gave him the box with 9 still in it.
I’m with Andy on this. I’ve been enjoying craft beer for most of the last thirty years, but in the store when I see something not dissimilar to what Jack’s offering, I think craft brewing has jumped the shark.
Bärenjäger is a honey-flavored liqueur produced in Germany. It is a blend of vodka, honey from the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and other “secret” natural ingredients. This liqueur has a rich history. It developed as a mead-like “moonshine” among the “Bärenjägers,” or bear hunters, of medieval Europe. There are other results for Barenjager. Called “medicine” liguor. Not bad for those who don’t drink and have sore throat or cold etc.
Andy’s motto is Never Mix – Never Worry – stick with what’s tried and true. You can’t mess with perfection. There’s nothing like a good pint of Guinness! No fancy bottled concoction can compare to that ambrosia!
My local liquor store barely has any cheap workingmans beer. You Chicagoans know Old Style is our beer, many places no longer carry it. I’m with you Andy.
Andy is a bit like me on here. I never like to try new things very much. But of course when I do and I enjoy them, I just realise how stupid I was. Haha.
Haha. I’m a boring person and just like ordinary Coke or Pepsi with no alcohol. Although when I went on my first cruise back in 2018, I had a few small pieces of chocolate cake after dinner and it has Captain Morgan rum in it. It was lovely.
I remember the treadmill story. I hate exercise and will only walk. No running, jogging or going to the gym.
Stay safe, stay well and stay happy, pal. I’ve had to order some bathroom stuff for my neighbour as she is currently getting a shower installed. I like to help out.
After all this discussion I decided to check out Jack’s new beer. It’s an actual brew from https://www.sirencraftbrew.com in the UK. I’ll have a look in my local beer emporium to see if they have it.
Any establishment who serves this garbage should have its liquor license suspend. This “trend” seems to have started by adding lime to Corona swill, then lemons to screw up good German Heffeweisen. Now bud has some flavored garbage out and are advertising some abomination called “seltzer”. Thanks millenials, enjoy your “crafts”

I’d have thought Andy would offer his critique if Jack doesn’t charge for the beer

Uh huh. Very much too dear. One bottle of that frothingslosh costs as much as three pints of the usual. Besides, Andy drinks for effect, not taste!

Craft beers. Snobby hoi polloi. Put in anything besides grain, hops and water and I’ll likely use it get the dust off my work boots.

Chocolate cake flavored stout? Stout for people who don’t like the flavor.
