Prices everywhere have gone up on everything.

Years ago on a business trip to Freemont California I hired a limo to take me on a side trip to San Francisco. As a gesture of thanks to the driver I suggested we go to the restaurant atop the Hyatt Regency. Upon entering I noticed the menu posted at the door. There were no prices on it. When I mentioned that to the driver he responded “If you need to see the prices, we can’t afford to eat here”. We had two very expensive beers then left.

Lovely.

That wine costs Andy far more than a pint.

One of my FB “friends” (who’s not really a friend, just some guy from high school 50 years ago) likes to post menus of restaurants he goes to – with ridiculous prices. This week it was some steak house in Chicago. I recall one entre for $250. He thinks he is being pretentious, but to me he’s just telling the world he’s a dumbazz for spending that much money – even if he’s rich.

“Do you know how many ales this food is worth, Pet?”

Don’t worry, Andy, at least it isn’t burnt.

This has to be a dream sequence for Flo, there is absolutely no way Andy would ever treat her to an expensive restaurant meal with his winnings.

Here’s hoping the New Year will see a vast improvement of both the writing and the art in Andy! These days I mostly read it for simple nostalgia (and of course, simple nostalgia in a complex mind ain’t so dang easy……..) Happy New Year to all the Cappers!

Reminds me of when I had lunch with family a couple weeks ago at a nice Indian restaurant. The food was delicious, but it sure wasn’t cheap!

I wonder if the £215 I won at bingo would have been enough for two? I have never eaten in a posh restaurant. I like casual dining.

Hey, Affie.

I found out why the library was closed yesterday. They have reduced their opening hours because of the New Year. Back to normal on 4th January.

I didn’t go out today and not too sure about tomorrow either. If I was meeting my friend again then I would be but we are due to meet again on 7th January. By the way, I watched a Mr Bean episode the other day. It was where he goes to the laundrette.

I’m quite sure Andy spends more than that if not just as much at the pub!

This is unusually generous of Andy, but he does have his moments.
