Yes. It’s been a long time since I was the first commenter at turnover. It has just gone 6am my time and I have stayed up all night!

I’m not going to be here Sat & Sun as I don’t comment on the weekend. So I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. However I will be back at my usual time this evening. Just getting the HNY in early.

Anyway, I’m off to bed. It will be interesting to see how many replies I’ve got when I wake up. Hint Hint. No idea if I will be going out tomorrow. We shall see.

Today’s strip is notable for being set on a specific day of the year so it appears on Go Comics on the same day that it has been published in the Daily Mirror.

The first New Year I remember is 1974. I asked why the Christmas annuals all had 1974 on them and I was told that the year was 1973 and that they were dated for the coming year 1974. I was, of course, aged seven at the time.

Happy New Year, Cappers! I’d like to say “here’s hoping for some good times in 2022”, but I’m afraid some jerk will later post “boy were you wrong about that!” or something equally obnoxious. Still, looking forward to the new year.
