Hey, Affie.

Sorry for not commenting last week. I was taking a few days off as I usually do. But you would all be informed if I ever made the decision to leave for good. Very unlikely.

On Wednesday I’m at the carvery and I can’t wait. I haven’t been since November and I really wish I had went on my birthday but my favourite buffet restaurant had just reopened so I went there instead to try it out.

A few of the Cappers already know this but I have registered as a blood stem cell donor with DKMS UK to mark the 10 year anniversary of me giving blood. I haven’t received my swab kit yet where I swab the inside of my cheeks and send them off to be analysed.

When I’m officially on the register, it’s a waiting game. It could take weeks, months or even years to find out if I’m a match for somebody who needs a transplant. It might never even happen. I will be kept on the database until I’m 61.

Stay safe, stay well and stay happy, pal. Have a marvellous week ahead. I saw the Martin Luther King Jr ‘holiday’ on our calender in the kitchen I believe.

We did have a bar in our college town called ‘The Library’
