A few weeks ago, I commented that my home city of Chester had come joint eighth in a poll of the most British cities in Britain. This was based on the number of pubs and fish and chip shops and the amount of rainfall. This week, I read that Chester has topped an internet poll by a mortgage company and was found to be the city with the highest percentage of beautiful buildings according to the ancient Greek “Golden Ratio”. The poll gave Chester an 83.3% rating for beautiful buildings. Venice in Italy came second in the poll and London came third. It didn’t give the rating for Venice but it gave London’s rating as exactly 83% so Venice wouldn’t be far behind Chester.

An observation and a question: no purple! Hoorah! Are the prices for admission accurate?
