As I have mentioned before, I watch reruns of “Last of the Summer Wine” on the UK’s Freeview Channel 20 on most evenings. Yesterday, I watched a rerun of the episode called “It’s Never Ten Years” from 2008. It celebrated the ten years that Frank Thornton (previously Captain Peacock in “Are You Being Served?”) had been in the show as retired Inspector Truelove. Truly and Clegg looked back at their early years together when Compo had still been alive and discussed them with Alvin who didn’t know Compo but lived in the house which had belonged to him.
Towards the end of yesterday’s episode, there were some clips from the Millennium special from January 2000 when Truly, Clegg and Compo had visited Dunkirk. Clegg said to Alvin that Compo “wanted to go back to Dunkirk now that it had quietened down.”
There was also sad news about our new King yesterday. It is good that his cancer has been diagnosed early which will make it easier to treat but cancer is obviously never easy for anyone.

Is dole money unemployment checks? Asking for an American.

It’ll go even less, since the British taxpayers will be footing King Charles’ cancer treatments.

Andy’s got his hand in his pocket. People would faint if he did that in a pub. (Indicating he was buying a round) When pigs fly.
