I was fascinated by the concept behind “The Blacklist” season 7 episode 6 where a scientist is using the A.I. he created to protect humanity from those that are harming us by killing them. The A.I. eventually comes to the realization that the scientist and itself have become a danger to humanity and decides to kill its own creator and commit suicide to protect humanity by any means possible, a solution that could only come about if the A.I. had safeguards programed into it by the creator. Or would an artificial entity at the point of singularity be able to develop a conscience on its own? Maybe the “By any means possible” part of its programming allowed this to happen. Too many questions for comfort.
