Hi dave42 and all the Annie fans.I follow the Annie strip daily. The Big Little Book is a bonus. I find it hard to believe that I had many of the Big Little Books as a kid.
LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE AND SANDYBy Harold Gray, 1933CHAPTER 22 – Father and Son
In a few days Elmer was allowed to sit up in bed, and as soon as his father knew that Elmer was feeling better, he went into his room to visit him. But this visit was not the ordinary sickroom visit to try to cheer up the patient. On the contrary!
“Well, you’ve certainly made a mess of things,” he blustered. “I hope you’re satisfied. That redheaded little imp (and woever she got to help her) have made us the laughingstock of this town.”
“Aw, pipe down,” Elmer told his father. “You’re not such an old saint. How do you think folks would like to hear about th’ last time you drove a car?”
Mr. Pinchpenny turned pale and hastened from the room.
@david: Have a great time on your trip to Germany. Will it be on church business or pleasure (or both!)? I too am following your Annie story both with your narrative and with the strip itself that is in Vol. 3 of my Fantagraphic book. It is interesting to see how someone fills in the details of the strip itself.
@ironclad: I still have several of the Big Little Books in my collections. Three of them are Annie.

Morning all you Annie fans. Looks like little sister Patsy is going to get hers after all.
@Ironclad – Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve been wondering lately if more than just a couple people come here every day.

It’s hard to bully someone when they have the goods on you—unless you’re willing to “solve” that problem permanently!
