Morning, Anniephans.Something new in the Annieverse, at least in 2004. Annie being lost in who-know-where and still able to call Warbucks on the phone. I believe it was modern technology that made the Annie story unworkable. With our ability to have instant communication all across the globe, the writers were unable to maintain the old theme of Daddy going away and Annie getting lost and the two of them unable to find each other.

I live in a small city or a large town, take your pick, of about 120,000 people. My lousy cell phone works well on the other side of the interstate. On this side, well, if you walk around outside far enough, you can find a weak signal.
