Awwwww, I was looking forward tomorrow to seeing the words “American Dog Warbucks” for the 4th day in a row. Maybe one of the reinforcements will start saying it.
I’ve decided to throw my support behind the Santiago faction. She’ll be here about the time he runs out of gas and grenades, in a helicopter.
I’m surprised that W didn’t get fragged, though. They were right outside his window.
Maybe is Warbucks had just pushed them off the road with his much heavier vehicle, he’d still have that grenade for later.
And isn’t that a second jeep in back?
Yes, in yesterday’s strip the bus was followed by at least 2 jeeps.
The topmost people at Warbucks World Wide know he is missing; people in the White House and Pentagon have been concerned that they haven’t heard from him.
Hey guys, you cna totally just call him Warbucks. No need for the whole ADW routine. Everybody knows that’s implied from here on out.
I think the second jeep either crashes into the explosion and explodes, or crashed off the side of the road avoiding the explosion. They were pretty close.
You are right, mprongs. The second jeep hit a tree (3rd panel, upper left).
Apparently, the first jeep wasn’t level with the driver of the bus (1st and 3rd panels). He must have counted on the air stream around the bus to carry the grenade back, or slowed down the bus, tossed the grenade, and accelerated.
Annie doesn’t know Warbucks is missing. She knows Warbucks Worldwide is using a double to make appearences; she doesn’t know why.
Runar, I was wondering the same thing. If Santiago was drafted/recruited for a rescue mission, did the Pentagon acquire intelligence on possible whereabouts? If they have no clue to his whereabouts, and Warbucks manages to get a signal out, Santiago is likely to be out of range for a rescue, although others under U.S.A. command might be. I am under the assumption (it is only an assumption) that the Pentagon did come across a clue.

The real thing to wonder about is if any potential rescuers (i.e. Santiago & cohort) actually know where Warbucks is.
